Review the room selection process details, opening June 13

The room selection process for first-year students takes place between Thursday, June 13 and Thursday, June 27, 2024.

If you are applying for medical accommodations or are interested in Gender-Inclusive Housing, you should not participate in the room selection process.

Medical Accommodations
If you have an approved medical accommodation for a specific room type, University Housing will assign you a room that meets your needs. You should not choose a room online if this applies to you. We hold rooms specifically for approved medical accommodations.

Students who only receive approval for air conditioning can choose a room through the room selection process.

If you feel you need a specific medical accommodation, please review the information from the Office of Disability Resources about obtaining approval for a medical accommodation.

Gender-Inclusive Housing
If you are a transgender student, a student exploring gender identity, non-binary, or are gender non-conforming and would like to discuss your housing options, please contact the Office of University Housing at +1 216.368.3780 or housing@case.edu or the LGBT Center at +1 216.368.1237.

You can also indicate on your housing application that you would like to live in Gender-Inclusive Housing (GIH), and we will follow up with you individually. We have identified rooms in the first-year halls for gender-inclusive housing. Learn more details about the program.

Roommate information
Once you complete your housing application, you can search for a roommate through our online room selection link on MyHousing. You can search for roommates by name, network ID, lifestyle characteristics, or through suggestions based on your lifestyle characteristics.

Create a group and then invite your roommate to your group. They will have the choice to accept or deny the invitation. Once your group is complete, you can submit your group for the room selection process. Only the group leader is able to go online to choose the room. Please make sure you discuss your building and room preferences with your roommate ahead of time!

Remember, it is not necessary to have a roommate to choose a room online.

Room Selection Process
You will receive a randomly generated time slot that identifies which day/time you will choose your room online. If you formed a group with a roommate, you will use the group leader’s timeslot to select a room for both of you.  You can change the group leader on MyHousing, under Room Selection, if you wish to use the other group member’s timeslot. Roommate groups must be submitted 48 hours before your room selection timeslot (see dates below)*. If you do not choose a room during your identified timeslot, we will assign you to a room after the process is over.
