Training on support and resources available at CWRU

To our faculty, staff, students and postdocs:

My name is Rachel Lutner, and I am Case Western Reserve’s vice president for equity and Title IX coordinator. I am writing to inform you of a mandatory Title IX training, as well as other information and resources.

I lead the university’s Office of Equity, which focuses on supporting all members of the CWRU community—students, faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows and scholars, and visitors to campus—who are impacted by discrimination or harassment. CWRU prohibits discrimination and harassment in education and employment, including sex discrimination and sex-based harassment. So in my role, I am also responsible for making sure the policy against sex discrimination and procedures for support are followed and anyone impacted by sex discrimination or sex-based harassment, including those accused of violating the policy prohibiting such behavior, receive support.

To ensure that you have critical information and resources, all faculty and staff members and postdoctoral scholars and fellows are required to annually complete a “Title IX training for employees.” This year’s training—either through a 26-minute online module or through a live Zoom training—must be complete by Dec. 6, 2024.

To complete the training, you must be logged in with your CWRU ID

Faculty, staff and postdocs who do not complete the module will be deemed to have failed to comply with a university directive.

Educational programming and raising awareness, including through Title IX trainings, are among the many ways we strive to reduce risk for members of our community.

Please take the training online or via Zoom by Dec. 6.

If at any time I can be of assistance, please feel free to contact me directly at rachel.lutner@case.edu or 216.368.3066, or by text at 216.327.4160.

Very truly yours,

Rachel E. Lutner, JD
Vice President for Equity
Title IX Coordinator
