Giortaste is CWRU Greek Life's awards ceremony that recognizes members of the community for their outstanding contributions and chapters for their achievements in chapter development. Giortaste has its roots in Greek, meaning “celebrate”. Each February, the Case Western Reserve University’s Greek Life Community celebrates the accomplishments of chapters and individuals from the previous calendar year.
To be eligible for an award, chapters and individuals must be in good academic and conduct standing. A 2.0 cumulative GPA will be used to determine good academic standing. Any program or event that was required as a sanction will not be considered.

The nomination process has not yet opened for the 2026 calendar year.
Award Categories
For the award ceremony celebrating the 2025 calendar, the Giortaste Awards were updated. The Outstanding Pillar Event awards were added to showcase the amazing effort chapters put into their events. The Outstanding Partner Award was separated into Outstanding Campus Partner and Outstanding Community Award to showcase and celebrate even more non-Greek Life organizations that have supported the community this past year. Lastly, two new personal awards were added to highlight members' accomplishments outside of the chapter: Emerging Leader and Outstanding Scholar.
