Megan Dzurec is a Research Associate for the Swetland Center. Megan manages the SNAP-Ed program in Cuyahoga County. Megan comes to Case Western from The Ohio State University where she served as a Senior Research Analyst with the Stay Safe Study under the HEALing Communities grant. Megan worked with people who use drugs to collect data on their usage of fentanyl test strips and other protective behaviors. Through this opportunity, Megan worked directly with community partners in the harm reduction field and participated in the compilation of numerous manuscripts for publication. Megan has a history of working in various public health arenas, including non-profit, government, policy, corporate, and higher education. She is committed to creating equity among marginalized populations.
Megan was raised in Dayton, Ohio, and has lived and worked in Detroit, Michigan, St. Louis, Missouri, Los Angeles, California, and Columbus, Ohio. She now considers Cleveland, Ohio, her forever home, which she shares with her partner, Mark, daughter, Kate, and Goldendoodle, Murray. In her free time, she participates and volunteers with community efforts surrounding diversity issues. She enjoys cooking, painting, and traveling.
