Nourishing Power Has Moved to Community Leadership!

After 3 years as a community-action research study, the Nourishing Power Network will be led by Dawn Glasco through a year long period of sustainment. Through funds from the Cleveland Clinic, Dawn and other community members will steward the next phase of Nourishing Power Network from November 1, 2025 to October 31, 2026.

“I’m honored to lead the next phase of the Nourishing Power Network. This work is vital for our communities and our shared humanity. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working alongside residents across neighborhoods who understand our collective effort to create the positive change we want to see. The goals of Nourishing Power Network to establish Nutrition Zones, increase access to fresh foods, cultivate community wealth in all aspects, and collaborate to improve health outcomes is a vision rooted in love. I am truly inspired and eager to help guide NPN forward. I look forward to what all we can accomplish together.” - Dawn Glasco

Our Vision

Root & grow a local food system that promotes freedom, hope, & dignity in food traditions resulting in holistic health for Black, Latino/a/x, Asian, & Indigenous communities.

Our Mission

Test ways to bridge community power with organizational power to spark & expand food justice initiatives led by the community.

What do we hope to learn together through the Network?
  • If we cultivate welcoming spaces for community building, will it spark and expand food justice in Greater Cleveland?
  • If we support community-led action with financial and technical resources, will it tip the food system to fairness?
  • If we root and grow community ownership of local food systems, will it promote equity, vibrancy, and holistic health?

The Nourishing Power Network is working to root & grow a food system that works for all.

It consists of four components: the Advisory Council, Nourishing Power Networking, the Food Systems Change Fellowship, and a Nutrition Equity Fund. The Advisory Council, Fellowship, and Fund will require an application, and the Networking is open to all!
