Erica Starrfield is a strategic marketing and communications leader with 20+ years of experience building brands, creating growth strategies, and developing high-performing teams. She is committed to ensuring the university's reputation across the U.S. and around the world. She is extraordinarily passionate about the academic experience and high-impact research happening at Case Western Reserve University to address some of the world's most pressing issues.
Driving visibility for one of Cleveland's most premier institutions is especially meaningful for Erica as she was born and raised in the region. She is committed to active community leadership, serving on multiple local non-profit boards.
Prior to joining Case Western Reserve University, Erica spent nearly two decades at Nestlé in brand leadership and centralized marketing roles. At Nestlé, Erica was responsible for strengthening and growing brands, creating short- and long-term strategic plans, and developing marketing capabilities. She held brand management roles across some of the company’s most iconic brands including Stouffer’s®, Lean Cuisine®, and Buitoni®. Prior to joining Nestlé, Erica had an MBA internship at Warner Bros. Television in Burbank, California, and was an MBA marketing consultant for PepsiCo in Vietnam. Earlier in her career, Erica worked at non-profit organizations in Washington, D.C.
Erica obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in organizational studies from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University.
Erica and her family reside in Orange Village. She is an ultra runner, yogi, and lifelong learner.
