Sandy joined Case Western Reserve in 2014 as executive editor of Think magazine, the university’s flagship publication. Sandy (she/her) also is editor of the College of Arts and Sciences’ art/sci magazine.
A former journalist, she spent most of her career at The Plain Dealer, receiving nearly 20 local, state or national awards for stories she wrote or co-wrote. Sandy initially specialized in labor and workplace issues. Later as a metro/investigative reporter, she wrote about subjects including education, Ohio’s tax system, poverty and the foreclosure crisis. She has a bachelor’s degree in history from Brown University and a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
