Sam Gerace (MBA '04) joined Weatherhead faculty as an adjunct professor in 2021 and was appointed as Faculty Director of the Master of Business Analytics and Intelligence (MBAI) in 2026.
 
Sam is a technology entrepreneur, applied AI practitioner, and faculty program director at the Weatherhead School of Management. He brings to this role more than two decades of experience founding and scaling technology ventures, including Lineup.ai, an applied machine learning platform developed for the hospitality industry, with a multi-exit track record and more than $200 million in investment capital raised across ventures.
 
Sam's practitioner focus spans the full spectrum of modern AI, from predictive analytics and machine learning to the design, deployment, and governance of generative AI systems. He advises organizations as a fractional Chief AI Officer, helping leadership teams develop AI strategy and operationalize AI at scale. He works with clients across healthcare, manufacturing, professional services, and consumer industries, on projects including agentic systems design and implementation, evaluation of enterprise AI platforms, and creation of responsible AI governance frameworks.
 
As Faculty Director of the MBAI program, Sam recognizes the realities of today’s business environment where analytics proficiency and generative AI literacy are inseparable from competitive business performance, and where employers are seeking talent at the intersection of data science, business strategy, and AI implementation. Sam's teaching philosophy centers on developing practitioners who can lead organizations through AI-driven transformation, critically evaluate applied AI strategies and projects, and deploy AI tools that demonstrably increase EBIT.
 
Prior to his current roles, Gerace held leadership positions across a range of technology ventures and has served on the boards and advisory councils of multiple companies. He is a frequent speaker on AI strategy and organizational transformation for executive audiences.
