1925 - Part-time MBA degree offered through Cleveland College

1939 - School of Business Administration established

1948 - Bachelor of Science in Management program at the Case Institute of Technology created

1953 - Cleveland College relocated to University Circle

  • Cleveland College School of Business officially recognized by Western Reserve University

1957 - First PhD in operations research in the world awarded by Case Institute of Technology

1959 - Case Institute of Technology’s Engineering Administration Department named Department of Management Science

1964 - First PhDs in Organizational Behavior in the world awarded by Case Institute of Technology

1967 - Federation of Case Institute of Technology and Western Reserve University formed Case Western Reserve University

1968 - PhD in Organizational Behavior program launched

1970 - Department of Management created

1976 - Full-time MBA program established

1977- Master of Healthcare Management program started

1979 - Executive MBA program developed

1980 - School dedicated as the Weatherhead School of Management

  • Appreciative Inquiry developed by Weatherhead faculty members David Cooperrider and Ronald Fry

1981 - Master of Accountancy program started

1988 - Enterprise Hall, Weatherhead’s first facility, completed

1994 - George S. Dively Building, home of Weatherhead Executive Education, completed

1995 - Doctor of Management program (now Doctor of Business Administration)—the nation's first doctoral program for practicing executives—established

2002 - Peter B. Lewis Building completed

  • Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit and World Inquiry Bank created

2004 - Master of Positive Organization Development and Change program launched

2009 - Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit founded

  • Master of Finance program established

2011 - PhD in Management, Designing Sustainable Systems program started

  • Master of Supply Chain Management program launched

2013 - First Department of Design and Innovation established through a merger of the Marketing and Policy Studies Department and the Information Systems Department

2015 - MSM-Business Analytics program launched (now the Master of Business Analytics and Intelligence program)

  • Cleveland Clinic-Weatherhead Executive MBA program launched

2016 - Master of Business Analytics and Intelligence program started

2021 - Online MBA with a Healthcare Management Track program created
