Sherry Neubert joined Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as a team leader in 2002. A self-professed learner, she moved up in the company over the last 12 years through both experience and academia. She has an undergraduate degree in industrial management, and an MBA and a graduate degree in operational excellence. She also earned a Six Sigma Black Belt.
Neubert held an international assignment in Europe and led the globalization of IT for Goodyear's Innovation Centers focused on research, development, engineering and quality. She also led the creation of the function of project management.
Under Neubert's leadership, IT is credited with contributing to a number of successful projects, including upgrading the system applications products enterprise resource planning for Goodyear's North America region; providing major systems support for the separation of Goodyear from Sumitomo Rubber Industries; and launching Goodyear's consumer-facing e-commerce site.
Additionally, she launched a cybersecurity program and global shared services teams to consolidate regional work centers overseas, and she created a global procurement IT center of excellence and championed a joint IT and business partnership to create Goodyear's first SAP technology strategy roadmap.
Neubert is active in the Akron community, serving on the boards of Leadership Akron, the Akron Community Foundation's Women's Endowment Fund, Summit County CIO Advisory Board and the LeBron James Family Foundation's Community Advisory Board. She is an active volunteer and corporate leader in United Way.
She is a graduate of Leadership Akron and in 2011 was recognized by the Greater Akron Chamber as a "30 for the Future" award winner. After being named CIO, she realigned Goodyear's IT organization's community outreach to focus on STEM education, including providing internships for graduating seniors of Akron's STEM school. Goodyear also hosts an annual STEM Career Day to promote interest in STEM careers for students in sixth through 12th grades.
