CWRU cheerleaders perform on football sidelines in the daytime

With near-perfect fall weather, Case Western Reserve University welcomed over 2,400 alumni, family and friends back to campus for the 2025 Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, marking its highest attendance since the COVID-19 pandemic. Attendees came together to reconnect, celebrate and enjoy more than 150 events spanning all schools and the College of Arts and Sciences, marking a truly joyous return to campus.

The festivities kicked off Thursday evening with the annual Blue Bash, transforming Freiberger Field into a party atmosphere featuring live performances, interactive games and a spectacular fireworks display.

The annual Alumni Association Awards Luncheon highlighted the outstanding achievements of its remarkable alumni, who were honored for their significant and inspiring contributions.

Celebrating milestone reunions for class years ending in 0 and 5, the weekend offered an incredible array of programming to unite the CWRU community. Notable gatherings included the Graduates of Distinction Breakfast, recognizing alumni celebrating their 50th anniversary; the First Generation Breakfast; the 50th Anniversary of the Graduate Dance Programs; the Health Sciences Collaborative on the role of providers in the age of AI and hands-on exploration at the Sears think[box] Open House.

Saturday’s Spartan Tailgate served as a festive warm-up to the homecoming football game at DiSanto Field, where the Spartans secured a decisive 62-21 victory against Allegheny College—extending their consecutive winning streak to three. Senior running back Stefan Lopez delivered a stunning performance, powering through for four touchdowns in the first half, while the stalwart defense kept Allegheny scoreless until late in the third quarter.

Please mark your calendars for Oct. 8-11, 2026, and plan to join us for next year’s event.
