Data Science is a true amalgamation of several different disciplines. These include:
- Data engineering;
- Math;
- Visualization;
- Advanced computing;
- Statistics;
- Scientific method;
- Domain expertise; and
- Hacker mindset.
The curriculum is designed to cover the spectrum of learning needed to achieve domain area expertise in Applied Data Science. The courses are chosen to be both cross-cutting, i.e., intermixing students from across the university in fundamental Data Science concepts such as scripting and statistics, and domain area focused, such as those related to engineering & physical sciences, health, and business.
