The Marcus M. Greene Fund for Entrepreneurship Program is designed for students who are curious about innovation, interested in building something of their own, or eager to explore how ideas become impactful ventures. Through this program, a select cohort of students at Case Western Reserve University gain access to hands-on learning and meaningful connections across the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Inspired by the vision and generosity of Weatherhead School of Management alumnus Marcus M. Greene (MBA ’97), Founder and President of Green Capital Investors LLC, the program reflects his longstanding commitment to helping students build the confidence, skills and networks needed to pursue entrepreneurial paths.
A collaborative initiative between the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship and the Weatherhead School of Management, the program introduces students to the many pathways available within entrepreneurship. Leveraging the strength of the university’s strong entrepreneurial ecosystem, participants engage directly with founders, investors, alumni, and industry professionals, gaining meaningful and real-world perspective.
Throughout the academic year, the cohort leads a series of experiential learning opportunities. In the fall semester, students design and host two signature events focused on entrepreneurship, leadership, and investment. These experiences are intended to broaden students’ professional networks, deepen their understanding of entrepreneurial ecosystems, and highlight diverse approaches to leadership and venture creation.
In the spring semester, the cohort organizes two additional programs featuring guest speakers, panel discussion, and engagement with local Cleveland-area entrepreneurship and innovation programs. These experiences connect students with practitioners and thought leaders who provide practical insight into launching, financing, and scaling ventures while strengthening connections to the local entrepreneurial community. Through the planning and execution of these programs, students will build leadership, collaboration, event strategy, and community engagement skills while creating valuable learning opportunities for their peers.
