Workshop highlights the significance of zines in LGBTQ culture

To celebrate LGBTQ History Month, KSL and the university’s LGBT Center invited the community to make zines (taken from “magazine”). Participants learned about the significance of zines in LGBTQ culture, and were provided art and crafting materials to create their own small magazine featuring a topic important to them. Digital Scholarship staff assisted students in digitizing their creations, which will be featured in an upcoming online exhibit.

Through December 2023, the library art gallery will feature items from the University Archives and CWRU LGBT Center that highlight LGBTQ advocacy and actions as part of the university’s history.
