OhioLINK and SearchOhio are both state-wide library networks from which patrons can request items that are unavailable at KSL. These requested items can be shipped to KSL for pickup. When an item is ready for pickup, the requestor will receive an automated email. Patrons can pick up the item from the first floor holds shelf and check it out at KSL's Service Center Desk or by using the self-checkout kiosk.
CWRU patrons can request items using their Case ID information. Items unavailable through KSL, OhioLINK, and SearchOhio may be requested by CWRU affiliates through Interlibrary Loan. Read more about Interlibrary loan services.
Community patrons of OhioLINK or SearchOhio Member Institutions may borrow items from CWRU. For example, a Kent State University patron may check out books from KSL, or a CWRU patron may check out books from John Carroll University.
OhioLINK
OhioLINK is a consortium of academic libraries in Ohio which share access to circulating collections.
- OhioLINK's catalog includes books, audiovisual items, electronic resources like journal articles and eBooks, as well as research databases.
- OhioLINK requests can also be shipped to other OhioLINK member institution libraries.
SearchOhio
SearchOhio is a consortium of public libraries in Ohio which share access to circulating collections.
- Since SearchOhio is a public library network, items for entertainment or leisure are more likely to be available through SearchOhio than through academic networks such as OhioLINK.
- Unlike OhioLINK, SearchOhio items must be sent to the patron's home institution.
