Kelvin Smith Library offers a variety of library-technology resources to Case Western Reserve University and community patrons that include Wi-Fi access, computer access, WEPA printing services, and [U]Tech technology assistance.
CWRU members can log into campus wifi using their Case ID information. This network is named ‘CaseWireless’.
Visiting patrons can access wifi under the network 'CaseGuest'. The only requirement for access is the acceptance of user conditions.
WEPA is a cloud-based printing system that lets users upload documents from any internet-connected device and print at any WEPA kiosk. KSL has two kiosks on the main floor: one color printer and one black‑and‑white printer.
Printing for CWRU affiliated patrons: CWRU users can sign in to WEPA through single sign‑on. When prompted, select Case Western Reserve University to be redirected to the CWRU login page. For step‑by‑step instructions, see the CWRU's WEPA Print Guide.
Printing for Community Patrons: Community members may create a WEPA guest account, which provides full access to the network with some limitations. Guests without an account can still print directly at the kiosk using a USB drive or cloud service. They may also submit jobs in advance via the print driver or email‑to‑print and release them with a code.
Payment options include credit card, PayPal, or a $5 WEPA print card sold near the KSL entrance (cash only). For more details, visit the WEPA website.
KSL provides four first‑floor desktop computers. Each patron may use these computers for up to 120 minutes per day. To get access, check in with a staff member at the Service Center desk.
Patrons must agree to the library’s terms and conditions. Community computers shut down 30 minutes before the end of community access hours, and new logins end 60 minutes before closing.
Library computers are intended for educational research only. Licensed electronic resources may be used for personal educational purposes, and community patrons may access them on designated computers within CWRU libraries.
KSL’s laptop kiosk provides 3‑hour, in‑library loans of MacBook Air and Dell laptops. The kiosk is located on the first floor near the Service Center.
This [U]Tech‑supported service is available to CWRU and CIM students, faculty, staff, and UH/Cleveland Clinic residents.
CWRU Alumni, CIA visitors, and community patrons are not eligible; see Community Computers above for alternative access.
Laptops must be returned on time. Overdue loans accrue a $5‑per‑hour fine. Only one laptop may be checked out per library card at a time.
KSL provides external monitors for dual‑screen use on the first, second, and third floors. To connect, simply plug your laptop into the USB‑C/HDMI cable available at each station.
A catalog computer is available on the third floor of KSL, located directly in front of the elevators.
The [U]Tech C.A.R.E. Center offers walk-up technical support to CWRU patrons. It is located on the lower level of Kelvin Smith Library. Community patrons may ask questions, receive consultation or check-in machines for repair by our on-site team. For more information on [U]Tech and their operating hours, visit the [U]Tech website.
