Celebrating National Library Workers Day

Kelvin Smith Library is celebrating National Library Workers Day on Tuesday, April 9, by highlighting a few (of many) team members who maintain a learning environment that inspires discovery, advances research and provides opportunities for the community to better understand the world around them.

Benjamin Bowers

Benjamin Bowers

Benjamin Bowers is a project archivist focused on processing records from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing. In addition to his professional work, Bowers has a passion for collecting baseball cards, vinyl records and Ohio postcards—particularly those featuring his hometown, Ada.

Nicole Clarkson

Nicole Clarkson

Nicole Clarkson is a research and engagement librarian supporting the Department of English. In her free time, Clarkson writes novels, poems, and creative essays. She can help find specific resources or information, narrow down a research topic, organize a search strategy, cite sources and more!

Alex Vargo

Alex Vargo

Alex Vargo is a library assistant at the KSL Service Center Desk and is the main floor liaison for the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship. During her free time, Vargo enjoys tinkering with antiques and (hopefully) making them work again.

Vargo can answer questions about KSL, check out materials, refer you to other staff who can help and more!

Mandee Young

Mandee Young

Mandee Young is KSL’s human resources and administration coordinator. From recruitment to staff recognition—training and development to community outreach—Young’s work focuses on ensuring staff have the support, tools and resources needed to excel in their roles within the library.

Young enjoys volunteering, competing in trivia nights, baking with her partner, and planning her next great trip.
