KSL librarians share five hidden gem resources they wish more people knew about!
1. You can ask KSL anytime.
With the library’s new 24/7 chat service, you can access real-time help from librarians around the clock.
2. You can enjoy free access to The New York Times.
Members of the CWRU community can activate a free access pass to The New York Times through KSL. Once registered, you can access NYTimes.com and its multimedia content, including podcasts, videos, photography and more from any device. Learn how to activate your pass and all the features you’ll have access to.
3. You can share your research through Scholarly Commons.
On March 25, 2024, CWRU faculty adopted the Faculty Open Access (OA) Policy, allowing faculty to publicly share peer-reviewed scholarly artifacts in CWRU’s repository, Scholarly Commons. If you authored or co-authored any peer-reviewed articles submitted to journals or conference proceedings and signed your publication agreement after that date, this policy applies to your work! You can deposit the accepted manuscript version* of those artifacts in Scholarly Commons, making a version of your work open access.
4. You can discover new research methods through the Digital Scholarship Workshop Series.
Through a series of hands-on workshops, the Digital Scholarship team helps the CWRU community learn how open-source digital tools allow you to explore research in new ways. Spring semester workshops have wrapped up but a new schedule of workshops will be available in fall semester. Information about our digital scholarship services is available on the library's website or schedule an appointment with a member of the digital scholarship team.
5. You can take advantage of lifelong learning with library alumni resources.
Are you gearing up for graduation? You can keep access to some CWRU Libraries resources with an Alumni Account. Alumni access includes databases such as JSTOR and Academic Search, as well as others covering topics like business, nursing, literature and more.
