George Saunders is one of America's most acclaimed contemporary writers, celebrated for his innovative fiction, wittiness and gentle storytelling. He is the author of the Booker Prize-winning novel Lincoln in the Bardo, the novels Liberation Day and Vigil, four acclaimed short story collections, including Tenth of December, a book of essays and an award-winning children's book.
He is the recipient of a MacArthur Foundation "Genius Grant," a Guggenheim Fellowship and the National Book Foundation's 2025 Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters.
