Virginia Evans is the author of the No. 1 New York Times bestselling debut novel The Correspondent, which has sold more than one million copies worldwide and been translated into more than 30 languages. The novel was a bestseller across multiple national lists, including The Washington Post and Los Angeles Times. It was also longlisted for the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction, the PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Novel and the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize.
Evans is originally from the eastern United States; she earned a bachelor's degree in English literature from James Madison University and a Master of Philosophy in Creative Writing from Trinity College Dublin. She currently lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with her husband, their two children and their Labrador retriever Brigid.
