The Community Food Access project involved educating Cuyahoga County food retailers and food pantry neighbors in high SNAP areas on new federal SNAP eligibility and work requirements under House Resolution 1 (H.R. 1), gathering qualitative feedback on expected revenue impacts and identifying ways the County can support local businesses and ensure access to healthy foods, and lastly, interviewing food pantry neighbors to get additional feedback on how SNAP users were affected. This project was done alongside the Cuyahoga County Hunger Response Team and culminated in a report that included what was found and what the county could do to help retailers and neighbors.
