January Seminar: Conceptualizing Social Determinants of Neighborhood Health through a Youth Lens

Presenter: Elizabeth Benninger, Ph.D., Case Western Reserve University Topic: This presentation draws on social determinants of health literature to frame the ways in which youth (ages 14-17) experience historical disadvantage within the neighborhood and how this influences their health outcomes. Elizabeth Benninger reports on findings from a Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) case study with 14 African American youth in Cleveland, Ohio to argue that racial discrimination shapes the social determinants of health, which in turn, contributes towards disparities in child health outcomes across their life course.November Seminar: Creating a Menu of Actions for Community Driven Food Systems Change

August Seminar: Dietary Inflammation Index (DII) among SNAP Utilizers

July Seminar: Understanding Food Systems from a Life Cycle Perspective
