James Kaemmerer

James Kaemmerer is the international student advisor in CWRU's VISA Office covering PhD and Masters students in the School of Graduate Studies. He has over twenty years of experience in the field of international education, in classrooms and institutions in the US and abroad, including four years in Mongolia as a Peace Corps teacher, language student, and higher education advisor.

His research focuses on international student mobility and employment (CPT/OPT), immigration regulations and policies, and the history of international students in the United States. His work has been published in scholarly and professional journals, including The Professional Geographer, the Journal of Comparative & International Higher Education, the Missouri Policy Journal, and Inside Higher Ed.
