Questions and answers for those hosting an event in 2021 at the University Center:
At this time, the University Center is able accept event requests from departments, student organizations, and external guests.
The building is accessible for all 7:00 am - 11:00 pm. Between the hours of 11:00 pm and 7:00 am, only those with a University ID card can access the building.
Social distancing restrictions have been removed at this time and all events can be held at pre-pandemic capacities. Any events with 50 or more people and external guests must be reviewed by the University COVID Operations Committee and they may require some amount of distancing depending upon the event. However, if you would still like your event to be set with social distancing in mind, we are happy to set the space to accommodate.
Sanitization stations will be set up in each room that include wipes and disinfectant spray for guests.
Hand sanitizing stations have been added to the building. Paper towel stations have been added to restrooms.
The custodial staff frequently sanitize high touch point areas (door knobs, hand rails, elevator buttons, etc.) throughout the entire building multiple times per day.
Increasing COVID-19 cases within Northeast Ohio have prompted Case Western Reserve to resume its requirement that masks be worn indoors. In addition, only those who are fully vaccinated (two weeks past their final dose) should attend any campus event. Leaders continue to monitor pandemic developments and may need to adjust health protocols further as circumstances warrant. In-person is subject to change based on COVID-19 guidelines.
Yes, we will work with MediaVision to make this possible. Please let us know of this interest at the time of reservation to ensure they are available. Fees will apply.
Bon Appetit is still the exclusive caterer of the University Center. Catering options are available, but the delivery of the meals may need to be adjusted or limited depending upon the event. Please contact Bon Appetit to discuss your event’s needs.
