On Wednesday, March 19th, 2025, the second annual Women’s Leadership Luncheon hosted by Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University honored the spirit of empowerment, perseverance and transformative thinking.
Guests were treated to an inspiring afternoon filled with powerful stories of strength, vision and groundbreaking achievement, as they heard firsthand the incredible impact of women leaders shaping the future.
Keynote speaker Yvette Simpson, an attorney, DEIB leader and former Cincinnati City Council member, shared her journey as the “Queen of Reinvention,” emphasizing authenticity and intention in leadership.
The event also featured Laura Guilliam, PhD (MGT ’18), and Laura Leopardi (MGT ’94), who left attendees reflecting on their own leadership paths. Guilliam, an expert in organizational transformation, discussed fostering belonging in times of change while Leopardi, an entrepreneur and financial expert, provided actionable insights on achieving fiscal fitness for personal and professional growth.
Attendee Patty Schaar (MGT ’05), founder and CEO of BlüShift Strategy, highlighted the luncheon’s impact.
“Participating in the Weatherhead women’s luncheon was an energizing experience,” Schaar said. “In these challenging times facing our community, country and world, it's more important than ever that women feel empowered to make their voices heard.”
Planning is already underway for the 2026 event, which will expand to a full day of professional development and personal enrichment programming. Event details will be announced in the coming months.
