Examples of life-threatening emergencies:
- Car accident
- Criminal activity
- Missing persons
- Suicidal thoughts
- Homicidal thoughts
- Natural disasters (tornado, flood, etc.)
- Sexual assault
- Other violence
Between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays, call ISS at 216.368.2517.
Outside of regular office hours, call the CWRU Police Department at 216.368.3333, and the dispatcher will help connect you an ISS staff member.
Examples of immigration-related emergencies:
- Detainment at US port of entry
- Immediate threat of deportation
NOTE: You can get a travel signature on an immigration document (I-20 or DS-2019) in-person during walk-in hours or through express mail if you’re overseas. This is not an emergency situation. Contact ISS during walk-in hours for more information about these options.
Examples of non-emergency needs for assistance:
- Culture shock
- Conflicts with classmates or professors
- Financial problems
- Identity Theft
