The applicant requirements and admissions criteria for international applicants are the same as for United States Citizens and Permanent Residences except for the following:
- International students not from an English speaking country must provide either a TOEFL or an IELTS test score to demonstrate English proficiency.
- For international applicants living outside of Canada and/or have taken courses outside of the United States and Canada, they must provide a course-by-course transcript evaluation from an agency that is a part of either AICE or NACES. This should be sent directly to the department to be considered official.
- To obtain a F-1 visa, international students must submit bank statements and other financial documents indicating sufficient funds to support the tuition and living expenses for one academic year. If you wish to apply for student assistantships we will require this information earlier in the process.
We recommend that international students aim to submit their applications by the Priority #2 deadline May 15th to give adequate time for obtaining visa documentation. Each applicant's situation is different, so we recommend that the applicant speak with International Student Services.
