Dr. Huda Zoghbi

Dr. Zoghbi is Professor of Molecular and Human Genetics, Baylor College of Medicine, Director of the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute, Texas Children’s Hospital, and Investigator, Howard Hughes Medical Institute. She will give the Story Landis Lecture at the CBHI annual Retreat, 2019.

Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, Dr. Zoghbi completed her M.D. at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN and her pediatrics residency at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, TX. Her work, which has helped elucidate mechanisms of Rett syndrome and spinocerebellar ataxia type 1, has been recognized with the Canada Gairdner International Award and the Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences.
