Institutes & Centers

The Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences is the proud home of the Research Institute for Children's Health, the Cystic Fibrosis Research Center, the National Center for Regenerative Medicine and the FIND Pipeline.

Research Institute for Children's Health

The Research Institute for Children's Health applies state-of-the-art technology in the fields of genetics and pharmacology to rapidly develop therapies for genetic-based disorders.

Cystic Fibrosis Research Center

The Willard A. Bernbaum Cystic Fibrosis Research Center at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine dates back to 1964 when it was initially funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The center is currently supported by individual research grants from the NIH and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), as well as infrastructure grants from CFF, philanthropic support, and funds from the School of Medicine itself. Its investigators aspire to identify and understand the fundamental mechanisms involved in cystic fibrosis pathophysiology and to devise new therapeutics to treat the disease and its complications.

National Center for Regenerative Medicine

The National Center for Regenerative Medicine (NCRM) is a platform to facilitate translational research, clinical application, and commercialization of regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and stem cell therapeutics across a consortium of institutions.

FIND Pipeline

FIND Pipeline is leading the way with tools to advance gene-centered therapeutics into clinical trials. Our integrated operation bridges candidate therapeutics from the bench to the patient and back. Our tools and services are widely used by academic and commercial researchers and physicians in Northeast Ohio and around the world.
