Monica Nardini, MS, MA, LCGC is a board certified and licensed genetic counselor, and is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences. Monica is also a prenatal genetic counselor at The MetroHealth System. Monica earned her MA in Bioethics in 2011 and her MS in Genetic Counseling in 2013, both from Case Western Reserve University. She first worked at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation practicing both general and cancer genetic counseling from 2013-2016. When joining The MetroHealth System in 2016, Monica became the lead clinical rotation supervisor in prenatal genetics for the genetic counseling students, as well as an education coordinator for the OB/GYN residents and Maternal Fetal Medicine fellows. She has sat on several student research committees, being a member of the CWRU Genetic Counseling Master’s Program Advisory Board, and she was appointed as the Director of Clinical Training in 2020. In this role, her main responsibilities included teaching the role plays portion of the Preparing for Genetic Counseling Practice Course, as well as scheduling clinical rotations for students and leading their clinical rotation evaluation meetings throughout their second year. In 2025, she became the Associate Director of the Genetic Counseling Training Program, resulting in her taking on additional roles including coordinating the Clinical Genetics course, serving as an instructor for the Bioethics course, and increasing her time committed to student mentorship and research.
