Doing Our Part for Sustainability
Sustainability can be described as a set of practices that help sustain and support the earth’s environment by limiting the amount of material placed into the waste stream and otherwise limiting our carbon footprint. Among the many practices used to increase sustainability include recycling, energy conservation, and food composting.
The Case Western Reserve University community has long been at the forefront of embracing these practices, by building sustainability into everything we do, including our business and procurement practices. Our department does its part, both by using sustainable operating practices ourselves as well as encouraging the selection of environmentally friendly vendors and suppliers.
You can learn more about campus-wide sustainability efforts at the university's Sustainability Office website.
