Elizabeth Jaszczak leads the Human Resources functions for the offices reporting to the provost, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, compliance with policies and fostering a positive work environment. 

Primary responsibilities include HR strategy and leadership and implementing best practices to align all units of the Office of the Provost to ensure consistency and equity. In partnership with the constituent departments, Jaszczak’s talent management responsibilities include leading the ongoing strategies for recruitment and development of a diverse and talented workforce to support the university’s mission and strategic objectives and encouraging a positive, respectful workplace to achieve these outcomes. 

Jaszczak’s professional career began at CWRU, where she served as research assistant for two different neuroscience laboratories prior to joining the central HR team.  She advanced from employment specialist to manager to director of employment before pursuing senior HR and recruiting roles in private consulting, Forest City Enterprises, Greater Cleveland RTA, Bendix and Baldwin Wallace University.  

Jaszczak earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Mount Union and a master’s degree in biology from Cleveland State University.  She was recognized by the YWCA of Greater Cleveland as a recipient of the Women of Professional Excellence award in 2012 for her professional achievements and community service. 

Jaszczak is married to a CWRU alumnus, Michael, and they are the parents of two adult children.
