Now in its third year, the Case Western Reserve University Faculty Journal Club aims to increase diversity and inclusion among the university’s faculty.
In years past, the Journal Club focused on reviewing readings to increase the recruitment and retention of historically disenfranchised populations in STEM disciplines. But now, the Journal Club is open to all disciplines.
The first meeting of the fall 2022 semester will take place Thursday, Oct. 20, from noon to 1 p.m. The meeting will be hosted by Gelise Thomas, assistant director of strategic diversity, equity and inclusion and health disparities at the School of Medicine.
Attendees will discuss a reading from the Journal of Medical Systems, which delves into the rise of “health equity tourism.”
Register for the meeting and get access to the reading.
While geared toward faculty, the events are open to everyone at Case Western Reserve.
