CWRU TRAVEL POLICY
More thorough information is available on meals and mileage allowances.
Mileage Allowances
CWRU policy is to mirror current Internal Revenue Service mileage allowance recommendations. The allowance covers all automobile-related costs including gasoline, insurance, and maintenance. Toll charges and parking fees, when supported by receipts, are reimbursable in addition to the mileage allowance.
2023 CWRU Mileage Allowance Rates
- 65.5 cents/mile (from January 1, 2023)
- 62.5 cents/mile (from July 1, 2022)
- 58.5 cents/mile (from January 1, 2022)
Meal Allowances
The actual cost of meals, including taxes and tips, while on business is reimbursable. Receipts are required if the total cost of a meal exceeds the university meal allowance. CWRU has chosen a standard meal allowance for all travel when receipts are not available.
- Breakfast: $13.00
- Lunch: $16.00
- Dinner: $35.00
NOTE: The meal allowance is not a per diem; it assumes actual expenses have been incurred.
