Alexis Rittenberger holds a PhD in Management – Designing Sustainable Systems from Case Western Reserve University and an MLIS from the University of Pittsburgh. She has over 18 years practical experience managing library and information systems. She is an active member of the Academy of Management and the Association for Library and Information Science Education. Dr. Rittenberger’s research interests lay in the intersections between socio-cultural norms, identity roles, and institutional pressures, specifically with regard to professional education programs. Her work focuses on the tensions between academia and practice in programs designed to train practitioners. Her research goals include promoting scholar-practitioner roles within the university structure and fostering antifragility in professional programs.
