Prof. Jonathan Ernest is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, where he has been teaching since 2019.

He currently serves as the Academic Representative and Undergraduate Program Coordinator for the CWRU Department of Economics and advises the Weatherhead Economic Society (WES), the CWRU Real Estate Club (REC), and CWRU Quiz bowl.

Courses taught include Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Economic Analysis of Business Strategies, and the Economics of Sports. For his effots, he has received nominations for the WSOM Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Bruce Jackson, MD, Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Mentoring.

Prof. Ernest is actively involved in university governance, serving on the Faculty Senate Committee on Undergraduate Education (FSCUE) and having previously contributed to the FSCUE Curriculum Committee and the Committee on Undergraduate and Integrated Studies (UGIS).

His research focuses on the incentives created by government policies, drawing from his extensive background in American politics, private enterprise, insurance, and economics.

He has been featured in well over 100 news stories across various media platforms, including television, print, online, radio, podcasts, and documentaries. In 2022, he was named "Coach of the Year" for the Emerging Leaders Program, and in 2023, he was recognized as "MVP" by the CWRU Media Relations team.

In his free time, Prof. Ernest writes short articles for a general audience, offering economic perspectives on everyday news at stealtheconomics.com.
