In partnership with the global movement, Sistema B, as well as Tecnologico de Monterrey and ITESO, the Fowler Center’s AIM2Flourish program collaborated on the first Academia B event held on August 24th, 2019 at the Tec de Monterrey, Campus Santa Fe in Mexico City.
The collaboration brought together leaders of the academic and private sectors; teachers, students, business leaders and entrepreneurs, to share educational experiences and purposeful business models and promote an agenda towards triple impact education.
The goal of Academia B is to inspire a new generation of scholars and students to act as agents of change. The event included programming to Inspire - hearing from students, professors, and business leaders involved in AIM2Flourish - to Share - hearing a panel of academics, students, and entrepreneurs and then choosing short workshops to learn more about specific topics - and to Create - where they whole group selected areas of interested and worked in teams to create ideas about how to move social entrepreneurship forward in an educational setting.
As part of this event participants could:
- Bond with international speakers, social enterprises and universities around the country
- Acquire new methodologies, tools and experiences to accelerate a culture of social innovation at their university
- Meet inspiring entrepreneurs and business models
- Participate in workshops, panels and talks about triple impact
- Collaborate in exclusive sessions for teachers and students
Thank you to Sistema B and the Academia B initiative for including AIM2Flourish as a collaborator and in the event’s programming. We look forward to supporting even more professors in Latin America with their pursuits in teaching their students about business as an agent of world benefit and social entrepreneurship.
