Hispanic Heritage Month: Meet Madeline Corchado, EMBA student

Portrait of Madeline Corchado

National Hispanic Heritage Month takes place each year from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15. In honor of the month, we are highlighting members of the Weatherhead School of Management community who are of Hispanic heritage to shed light on their experiences at the school and learn how they like to celebrate their heritage.

Madeline Corchado is the vice president of human resources at Step Forward and she is also a student in Weatherhead's Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program. She is expected to graduate in May of 2023. Her hometown is Isabela, Puerto Rico. Get to know more about Corchado:

What made you decide to attend Weatherhead for the EMBA program?

To further solidify my knowledge, skills and abilities, and to continue to work for the betterment of our communities.

What do you love most about Weatherhead?

The professors. They are truly there for you and to meet you where you are. You are not just a student, but a human being!

Are you doing anything to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month?

I am going to support Julia De Burgos Cultural Arts Center. The only Center in Northeast Ohio dedicated to the preserving, sharing, and educating our communities about Latino arts and culture.

As part of your Hispanic heritage, do you have any favorite traditions?

As a Latino, I celebrate every day. I try to share customs, traditions, arts, faith, music, etc. and share my experience as a Latino in the mainland.
