Case Western Reserve University and the Weatherhead School of Management will celebrate Employee Appreciation Day this year on Friday, March 10. In honor of the day, Weatherhead is recognizing staff members throughout the month of March from a number of offices in the school.

Department Assistant for the Department of Design & Innovation Gail Stringer has been with Weatherhead for 12 years and with the university for 16. Get to know more about Stringer and what she loves most about the university:

What is something that you find exciting working in Weatherhead?
The people–faculty, staff and students–are an interesting amalgam of cultures, personalities and outlooks on life. It is never boring or dull at Weatherhead.

What has been your favorite memory so far during your time in Weatherhead?
The 'walking club.' Some of the staff and faculty participated in some years back as part of a campus-wide wellness initiative. It gave us an opportunity to not only stay fit, but to get to know more about each other as we walked all the floors and climbed the steps at Weatherhead. It was also a chance to navigate this interesting building and appreciate the architecture.

What do you love most about working at CWRU?
The opportunities to learn, grow and be exposed to so many different people and new ways of thinking about life.

What is your favorite thing to do in Cleveland?
Being a foodie and exercise instructor, one of my favorite things is taking advantage of the variety of food options, particularly in the uptown area. Additionally, I love the many walking paths in the Cleveland MetroParks and participating in the many outdoor activities.

What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?
My best piece of advice comes from scripture: "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." - Philippians 4:13 NLT
