Among all the awards a professor receives, none are more moving than the ones based on the admiration and appreciation of students.  In response to the written testimonials of 10 former students submitted on his behalf by Mary Sasmaz, Assistant Professor of Accountancy, Tim Fogarty, Professor of Accountancy and the Andrew D. Braden Professorship in Accounting and Auditing, was named this year’s KPMG Mentoring Award recipient.

KPMG created the mentoring award to honor a special mentor who has affected the lives of students in accounting.  The selection is grounded on the impact the individual has had over a period of ten years through demonstrated activities of support to students.

“This recognition is well deserved,” said Tom King, department chair, department of accountancy at the Weatherhead School of Management.  “Students appreciate Tim’s guidance and genuine support in advancing their careers.”
