Weatherhead Releases 2020 PRME SIP Report

The Weatherhead School of Management released its 2020 Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Sharing Information on Progress (SIP) report this week. The report details Weatherhead's commitment and practices in support of the PRME initiative.

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a United Nations-supported initiative founded in 2007 in Cleveland, Ohio at Weatherhead's Global Forum for Business as an Agent of World Benefit. As a platform to raise the profile of sustainability in schools around the world, PRME equips today's business students with the understanding and ability to deliver change tomorrow. Working through Six Principles, PRME engages business and management schools to ensure they provide future leaders with the skills needed to balance economic and sustainability goals, while drawing attention to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aligning academic institutions with the work of the UN Global Compact. As a voluntary initiative with over 800 signatories worldwide, PRME has become the largest organized relationship between the United Nations and management-related higher education institutions.

A central commitment of any institution participating in the PRME initiative is to regularly share information with its stakeholders on the progress made in implementing the Six Principles through a Sharing Information on Progress (SIP) report. As a key integrity measure, the SIP's main objective is to serve as a public vehicle for information on responsible management education. In addition, the SIP can be an effective tool for facilitating stakeholder dialogue and a learning community among signatories.

Weatherhead’s commitment to the Principles for Responsible Management Education enhances the fulfillment of our school’s mission to have “an enduring impact on business and society through cutting edge research and innovative teaching that prepares professionals for the marketplace of the future.”

Weatherhead develops the capabilities of students to be globally responsible leaders that lead thriving organizations through learning environments, including curriculum, academic activities, co curricular opportunities, and the programming created by the school's centers of excellence. Through cutting edge research, partnerships and dialogue on critical issues, Weatherhead radiates the idea that business can do good and do well to students, alumni, the Northeast Ohio region and the world.
