On Dec. 9, 101 companies from Northeast Ohio were recognized by the Weatherhead School of Management at the Weatherhead 100 event for their leadership, growth and success in the region. This year, the event was hosted virtually.
Established in 1988, the Weatherhead 100 awards are the premier celebration of the companies leading the way in Northeast Ohio. Organizations that make the list are recognized for their percentage of revenue growth over the past five years.
The awards are separated into three categories: Upstart, Centurion and the Weatherhead 100. Upstart companies are fast-growing companies with 15 or fewer employees, or net sales of less than $5M in the last year. Centurion companies are fast-growing companies with at least $100M net sales last year. Weatherhead 100 companies are celebrated for big growth in net sales over the past five years—from at least $100K to $1M.
The top winners in each category included:
- Upstart winner: M Genio Inc. (155% sales growth)
- Centurion winner: Leaf Home (862% sales growth)
- Weatherhead 100 winner: reLink Medical (2,745% sales growth
- Centurion winner Leaf Home Chief Growth Officer Jeff Beck gave credit to his team for the company’s success.
“To be recognized as one of the Weatherhead 100 organizations means a lot to me. It says so much about our entire team from those of use in leadership positions to our managers to everybody at our 150 locations,” he said. “We wouldn’t be here without all those people. This means a lot to all of us.
“The biggest advice I can give to other companies that want to grow and want to be on the Weatherhead 100 [list] is to really, really invest in your team.”
The program was emceed by WKYC Anchor Sarah Shookman with Chris Adams, MGT ’99, President and Chief Executive Officer of Park Place Technologies, as the keynote speaker.
