Weatherhead Team Wins Second Place in Global Operations Competition

A team comprised of four Weatherhead School of Management graduate students were awarded second place in an Operations competition hosted by MIT Sloan's Operations Management club.

121 teams from 47 business schools in 11 different countries participated in the 16th Annual Operations Simulation Competition, or OpsSimCom 2020.

MBA candidate Yuxin Fan and MSM-Finance candidates Jiaxuan Li, Yilin Zhang, Anqi Lu brought him second place and were awarded $1,500 after competing in the online event against teams from around the world.

Participants were asked to manage a factory through an online simulation and were charged with making investments, cutting costs, borrowing money, forecasting demand and more. 

Alireza Kabirian, Director of the MSM-ORSC program and Associate Professor of Operations, served as the team’s faculty advisor.
