Andrew D. Gilchrist is RAI's chief financial officer and an executive vice president, as well as chief information officer for RAI Services Company.
He became chief financial officer on March 1, 2015 after being promoted to the position of executive vice president on Oct. 1, 2014.
Prior to this, he was president and chief commercial officer of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, a subsidiary of Reynolds American Inc. (RAI), from Jan. 1, 2011.
Prior to those promotions, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer for R.J. Reynolds and chief information officer of RAI Services.
Gilchrist began his career in 1994 as a sales representative with Helene Curtis. In 1997 he joined Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation (B&W) as a management trainee. He later held a number of management positions at B&W and its parent company, British American Tobacco. On July 30, 2004, R.J. Reynolds and the U.S. operations of B&W were combined, and Reynolds American became R.J. Reynolds' new parent company. Gilchrist is a board member of the Winston-Salem Alliance.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gilchrist earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Purdue University and a master's degree in business administration from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve.
