Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and Doctor of Management (DM) students who completed two years of the DBA/DM coursework may apply to the PhD in Management: Designing Sustainable Systems program at Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management.
Students accepted into the program remain with their cohort and continue the residency schedule of classes, which occur four times during the fall andsSpring semesters, as well as a summer seminar session.
The first year of the PhD program is currently the third year of the DBA/DM curriculum, while the second year is organized as a series of one-and-a-half-day research residencies which take place on campus once in the summer; two times during the fall semester; and two times during the spring semester.
Attendance is required as students present (and discuss) their dissertation work during these residencies. And, the program includes an independent study of relevant research literature as recommended by the student's dissertation committee.
