Elizabeth Madigan, Ph.D. (GRS ‘96, nursing), a CWRU alumna and nationally recognized nurse, received the 2021 Professional Achievement Award. Dr. Madigan is the CEO of Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing, and ensures that over 135,000 members in more than 100 countries can stay connected and have access to educational, professional, and advocacy resources. Dr. Madigan has an extensive clinical background, with research focusing on home health care. During her 21-year period as a tenured professor at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Dr. Madigan had written approximately 200 peer-reviewed professional journal articles and delivered more than 100 presentations.
