Moses Joloba (GRS '96, GRS '03, pathology) received the 2019 Professional Achievement Award, which recognizes an outstanding alumnus or alumna of Case Western Reserve University who has achieved exceptional accomplishment in his or her career and has brought distinction to himself or herself and Case Western Reserve through the benefits of vocation and leadership in his or her professional community. Joloba has made an impact with his extensive research on infectious diseases, including tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, pneumococcus and malaria. He has served as a TB laboratory consultant for the World Health Organization and trained and mentored 37 masters and 20 PhD students to completion. Additionally, Joloba has published over 180 peer-reviewed papers, obtained 10 grants and has served as a reviewer for six journals.
