Emma Getz (she/her) is the Mather Center's confidential Advocate for Gender-Based Violence at Case Western Reserve University where she provides services to students, staff, and faculty experiencing gender-based violence, domestic violence, interpersonal violence, and stalking. Emma is coming to CWRU with 4+ years of social service experience as an advocate, supervisor, and educator in the Sexual Violence and Domestic Violence field. Her previous roles include Program Coordinator with the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center and Volunteer Coordinator & Crisis Advocate with Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York. She also has volunteer experience with UNICEF, Planned Parenthood, and the Peace Corps. Outside of work, Emma enjoys making ceramics, Pilates, writing and cooking recipes, vintage furniture and trying every coffee shop in the Cleveland area.

Emma currently holds a Bachelor’s in Human Development & Family Studies from Kent State University accompanying two minors in Public Health and Nonprofit Studies.
