Megan Whitmore Sharp (she/her) is the Flora Stone Mather Center's part-time confidential Advocate for Gender-Based Violence at Case Western Reserve University where she provides services to students, faculty and staff experiencing gender-based violence, domestic violence, interpersonal violence, and stalking. Megan is coming to CWRU with over a decade of experience in higher education. While at Cuyahoga Community College, Megan worked alongside the College’s Title IX Coordinator and Director of Diversity and Inclusion where she coordinated all hearings for the College as it related to allegations of sexual misconduct and discrimination.
Megan has a personal interest in advocating for local, disadvantaged college students. Serving as a mentor for College NOW, Megan advises students throughout their college experience, aiding in the navigation of personal barriers that many students face, along with coaching students on communication skills needed to be successful with their peers and superiors, both in and outside of the classroom.
Outside of work, Megan enjoys being with her family. She loves being on the water - looking for “sea glass” on the shores of Lake Erie is her happy place. Megan has a personal interest in breathwork and meditation along with the physical and mental benefits that come along with these practices.
Megan is a first-generation college graduate and understands the barriers that come along with earning a degree. Megan holds a bachelor’s degree from Walsh University’s DeVille School of Business where she majored in marketing and corporate communication.
