Freedman Center For Digital Scholarship Collaboration Commons

Located on the first floor of Kelvin Smith Library, the Collaboration Commons is a newly renovated space for collaborations, consultations, and instruction sessions regarding digital scholarship. The Collaboration Commons is a large, open space, ideal for large and small group work as well as independent study, research, or writing. Its open floor plan accommodates up to 70 people, and includes mobile desks, chairs, and whiteboards to facilitate many kinds of study and collaboration. Whether you are consulting our digital scholarship librarians regarding a new project idea, taking advantage of one of our workshops or meetups, meeting with your research team, or holding your own instructional session, this flexible space with touch-screen technology can be adapted to your needs. We encourage you to visit with your colleagues, ask us questions, and use this space to advance your teaching and scholarship.

The Collaboration Commons also hosts several large, interactive touchscreen computers that can be used independently or connected to your laptop for presentations and group work. Each touch screen can be reserved on our "Reserve a Room" page.

Also available in the Collaboration Commons is a curated bookshelf dedicated to topics related to the Digital Humanities, including GIS, 3D Modeling, Programming, and Statistics.
